I make them according to historical or modern way of construction. The modern way shows a crossgrained soundboard, frame construction and relativly strong tension of strings. Historial celtic harps have got a body carved out of the solid wood and because of the grain of the soundboard less tension of the strings. This harps are of lower loudness when strung with gut. Strung with metal they demand a special way of playing, by which the strings are dampened in faster phrases.
Celtic harps mostly come along with 27 strings from c to a3.

Harp "Avalon" > This metal strung harp is to a large extent held in historical way of construction. It has similarities with the "Sirr-Harp". Its sound is powerfull, bell like, and it produces finest overtones. The small string distance is optimised for the playing with fingernails. The abgebildete harp is made out of maple and bird eyes maple.
